another hmm.
was reading stomp and went cross a "short advert" on how singapore celebs think towards the brands that singapore has. brands as in clothing and stuff.
well. to me? i feel singapore is really a very boring place to shop in. even if you are some tourists. because everything that you see in singapore can be seen back in their own country. unless you are saying koreans who have never seen zara clothes because zara was not in korea until recent because koreans love zara stuff. but even so, singapore is still so boring to shop in. you tell me, along orchard what brands cannot be found in the tourist's country itself? louis vuitton? le sport sac? celio? charles and keith? CK?
i guess you have to agree with me already. and to those who don't, you must be thinking of the shops in far east or cineleisure. think about this. are the clothes the same? what clothes does this two singapore brand places sell? pink or neon short cardigans? shorts that are just like underwear? what else other than these stuff does this two hangouts sell? nothing more. (besides the new shop in cine that sells really nice guy's clothes. =) )
besides having everything the same, singapore is still lacking those really major brands. the ones where we always hear or read from magazines, movies, tv, books. H&M, bergdorf, barneys? yes, i heard of the rumors that H&M opening in singapore. but only that? =/ and what are they going to bring in? same old clothes that we see in og and priced like they belong in hermes.
another thing. i try to give singapore the benefit that they try to bring in brands that people might like? but come on. having to step up the pricing like so much more isn't really helping? i don't mean any harm or what, but look at mango men. i have yet to see ANYONE wear it. why? becuase a little tee shirt is already 35-50? i kinda forgotten the price but i know that its seriously over priced and its super plain... thats why i said its over priced. and when we see that tee and we turn around, we see the similar woman's version for 9 or 18 bucks? oh gosh.
i don't know. but i feel that singapore is really not a place to be shopping in. and i super support what i said as i am already starting to buy my clothes online. a, cheaper and b, its nicer than the boring clothes i see all over and over again on the same racks.
